7 Years Old Boy Detained For Over Month For Accidentally Killing Someone, Regains Freedom

Chibuike Miracle Oramalu was released yesterday in Enugu state, Punchng reports.

The primary two pupil has been detained since May 30, after accidentally firing a gun, which killed a 12 year old boy , Oluebube Boniface, in Independence Layout area of Enugu.

The gun belonged to Edwin  Oforma, who employed Chibuke's mother as a cleaner and housekeeper in his house.

He accidentally fired they shot after discovering the gun in Oforma's room while making the bed, as  he was instructed by Chukwunanu Oforma's son.

Chibuke's mother Nwakago Oramalu, and her lawyer , Olu Omotayo, of the Civil Rights Realisation and Advancement Network, had raised the alarm over his continued detention.

The Commissioner of police, Enugu State, however said the boy was not detained but in protective custody.
