EFCC Arrests Ex-Deputy Speaker, Uwuche Over N5.6bn Amnesty Contract Scam

A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP and now a member of APC, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, was yesterday interrogated by the operatives of EFCC over an alleged N5.6bn contract scam.

Nwuche, a member of the house of reps between 1999 and 2003, was detained after responding to an EFCC invitation. Nwuche's company allegedly got 3 contracts from the presidential Amnesty Office under Kinsley Kuku, sometime in 2012 to train ex-militants in Malaysia.

However, nothing was done in terms of executing the contract. According to a detective the money was allegedly laundered back to Kuku through a front who is also being investigated by the EFCC.

As of 8pm yesterday,  Nwuche was still being quizzed by detectives.
