Marion Christopher Barry, Son Of Former DC Mayor Dies At The Age Of 36

Marion Barry has passed away at the age of 36.

In a statement, his stepmother, Cora Masters Barry broke the news of his untimely death.

"My heart is broken," she said

"I am in shock, the news of his death is beyond comprehension."

Barry battled with  substance abuse as his father did before passing away in 2014.

While an official cause of his death hasn't been confirmed, it isnbeing reported that he died suddenly from  a K-2 overdose.

According to the Washington post, a D.C police report details, Barry having stepped outside of a residence to smoke the drug and upon returning  inside the, the report said Barry acted "erratically" and then dropped to the ground.

He was taken  to George Washington University hospital  where he was pronounced death at 2:11am.
